Public Skating

The Corkery outdoor rink is OPEN for the season

The Corkery Community Association maintains a skating rink which is available for public skating when not in use for organized hockey.   For updated rink conditions, please visit www.ottawarinkconditions.ca.  Updates are provided daily.

There is an ice rink schedule to allow time for family & public skating as well as hockey - please see this link.

LOCAL HEROES

The Corkery Community Association would like to thank our many local heroes for building, clearing, icing and maintaining the rink during the winter season. Without these tireless volunteers, there would be no rink for everyone to enjoy.

A huge and special thank you to Pat Cavanaugh and Glenn McDonnell for making the initial ice during their Christmas season. They were certainly out there for long hours during the coldest of days. And they are still volunteering to clear the ice!

Also, a special thank you to our many other volunteers who ensure that the snow is removed and the ice is maintained on a daily basis! Our rink operators are: Andrew Kruger, Ben Gardner, Ron Sully, Nick V., Ron Tremblett, Kara and Rob Kilby, Jim McNeil, Jason Pellicia, Kelly and Tim Freeman.

If you would like to volunteer to maintain the ice, please contact Elaine Menard at 613 831 3910 or at swaymen@storm.ca.  And if you see one of our local heroes out there on the ice, please take the time to shake their hand ( even if it is forzen!)
