Heritage Properties

Dear Ward 5 – West Carleton-March Community Association,

At its meeting on June 26, 2019, Council directed Heritage Services staff to bring forward a Q4 2019 report regarding the addition of properties in flood-impacted areas (wards 1, 5, 7 and 19) to the municipal Heritage Register. This report is scheduled to be presented to the Built Heritage Sub-Committee on November 12, 2019. Public information sessions and a drop-in day are planned for October 2019.

The November 2019 report will recommend adding over 500 properties to the Heritage Register as non-designated listings. These properties were identified through the Heritage Inventory Project. 313 of these properties are located in Ward 5 – West Carleton-March. All impacted property owners will be sent a notice in the mail.

Please find attached the list of properties in Ward 5 – West Carleton-March being proposed for addition to the Heritage Register as non-designated listings.

Please note these important upcoming dates:

September 16, 2019 – Notice mailed to property owners

September 24, 2019 – Project summary and timeline e-mailed to Community Associations

October 7, 2019 – Information Session at Shenkman Arts Centre, 6 pm to 8 pm

October 9, 2019 – Information Session at Foster Farm Community Centre, 6 pm to 8 pm

October 16, 2019 – Drop-in day at West Carleton Client Service Centre, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

November 12, 2019 – Report presented to Built Heritage Sub-Committee

November 27, 2019 – Report presented to City Council

October 16, 2019 – Drop-in day at West Carleton Client Service Centre, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm

November 12, 2019 – Report presented to Built Heritage Sub-Committee

November 27, 2019 – Report presented to City Council
