Join us in the Community
We are a dynamic group of volunteers who have a lot of fun by working together. We believe that “Many hands” do indeed “Make Light Work”. If you want to see what sort of activities we run because of the enthusiasm of our volunteers, just continue to check out the activities and events listed on this website. But, we always need more help – because there is always so many things we want to do.
There are many opportunities to contribute to running our recreation programs and events. We welcome new volunteers to help make our events successful. If you have a particular interest, hobby you wish to share, or talent you wish to pass on, please let us know.
Ways of Volunteering
We have tried to organize our volunteers so that you can choose whether to volunteer for just a few hours a month (for example – on the executive), just for a few hours now and then ( just as helping with our gardens) or on a particular day, such as Spring Clean Up or Canada Day.
By having volunteers, we are able to provide many community events at little or no cost to our residents.
The Corkery Outdoor Rink is a valuable community asset. It helps keep our kids healthy and active. If you can spare a few hours a week for a few weeks in the winter time to help flood, it would be a most appreciated gift to the community. Thank you in advance.
We are looking for one more rink supervisor. Duties include supervising the rink for 10 hrs a week evenings and weekends.
Contact the rink boss at: email@example.com
Spring Clean Up
The Corkery Community Association participates in the Clean up the Capital Day.
We will gather at the community center for coffee and muffins at 9:00 am and return around noon for a BBQ. Volunteers will be provided with rubber gloves and large garbage bags.
Please sign up on-line for a specific road section to clean-up. This project qualifies for student volunteer hours.
For information, please check out the event page.
